Nurse Call - Better Patient Care

For some good news directed to hospital patients, the biggest medical centers and facilities around the world have now embraced the latest in medical technology; this time mostly concentrated on the vital services lumped into the important system of nurse call Queensland.

This alert system is being used by their care-giving staff (chiefly, the nurses) for patients to be able to call the attention of their nurses during personal emergencies and some such situation. With the use of these improved services, health care services have greatly improved the lot of their patients.

In more ways than one, the alert system is not just for speedier services (and other related needs) administered by nurses to their patients, it is part of the continuing effort of medical facilities to improve not just the services but the quality of such from their nurses.

Alert systems

There are several different brands of alert systems currently in use by the different hospitals. Each of the brands has their own models which hospitals and clinics can choose from for their present needs. Some are chosen because of the large number of the patients needing immediate attention from their nurses.

The other systems were chosen because they carry many useful features that are needed for the medical authorities to work on immediately. Still others have features that not only benefit the patients but also the hospital’s nurses as well.

Some sophisticated systems and devices carry other features for use by hospital authorities, over and above its assigned primary work which is to alert nurses according to look after their patients. Nurse call systems are now equipped with new innovations that were not available before.

Advantages and features

Aside from its mandated work which is to call attention of their assigned nurses, the devices (together with its system) have been bringing more advantages to patient, to the nurses and the hospital staff.

One crucial innovation is the fact that the attention of the nurses assigned to them are done directly. The result is quicker response to the patient’s needs.

Data assimilation

Many hospitals today have important data integrated with electronic health records of the patients, patient monitoring, patient flow and a real-time location system (RTLS), patient interactive engagement, security and emergency communications and others.

These new add-ons to the call system and their devices are all geared to serve the patients well for a better service and quick response to attention. The accuracy is also a very important feature that serves well the medical personnel and not just the assigned nurses to these patients.

In big hospitals these days, the new systems need not decipher which alarms need to be responded to as quickly as possible. There is a provision in the system where specific alarms are now sent directly to nurses who are on-duty. This would also take car of possible confusion as which alarm are meant for whom.
With the new system of the nurse call in place, overall patient care have improved much better in the old days when things are done manually and equipments and systems were yet in analog form.

Nowadays, the new systems need not decipher which alarms would need immediate attention from the many other alarms on every shift, especially in big hospitals. Specific alarms can now be sent directly to the on-duty nurse. Indeed, with this new nurse call Queensland system in place, patient care has improved much better than in the old days.
